School-Based Health Clinics

School-based health clinics came into being with the advent of Goals 2000, under "readiness-to-learn".  The concept is born of the "whole-child" theory — that the school must address EVERY need of the child:  mentally, physically and emotionally.  A child is labeled "at risk" of failure if he/she does not come to school "on the first day and every day thereafter ready to learn."  To address the whole child, school-based clinics are being established in schools nation-wide.  To the chagrin of parents, many are only realizing after the fact, how detrimental these clinics are to the health and well-being of their child.  Parents are learning that these clinics dispense birth-control pills, aid girls in obtaining abortions without parental knowledge or consent, and perform such invasive and demeaning procedures as genital exams on small children.  The school-based clinics are but another step on the part of the government to usurp and take over the role of parent in a society where parents are rapidly being relegated to the position of "producer of raw material" to then be shaped and molded by the government school.  The links below will help parents understand the ominous effect of school-based health clinics.
