Purpose of this website

This website has been constructed as a tool for parents and citizens who want to learn about systems education, otherwise known as education reform, also known as …

*       performance-based education (PBE)

*       standards-based education (SBE)

*       competency-based education (CBE)

*       outcome-based education (OBE)

*       outcomes driven development model (ODDM)

*       outcomes driven model (ODM)

*       outcomes driven education (ODE)

and a plethora of other names, all synonymous in the fact that this is a system of education driven by outcomes, what the child shall know and be able to do as a result of his or her years in the government or “public” school, now known as a community learning center.  More and more parents are discovering that the outcomes are subjective — behavioral in orientation.

The author's work on this website is the product of hours and years of research into local, state and federal documents regarding the restructuring of education, including grants, white papers, background papers, position papers, reports, and other documents from government sources; also books written by those whose philosophies and theories are the foundation upon which this system is built, and those who are actively engaged in and promoting the restructuring of education around a wholistic or holistic systems approach.

This approach has changed the focus of education from producing an innovative, creative, intelligent child capable of reaching for the star or stars of his or her choice, to a system intended to produce a worker according to regional economic development strategies and regional labor market needs as determined by the Workforce Investment Board under the auspices of the federal government, and as implemented by the regional One Stop system also under the auspices of the federal government (centralization of government).

This website is not for the faint of heart or those who wish to construct their own reality.  It is not intended to assuage parents’ worst fears, but will, in most cases, confirm them.

Many parents and citizens believe that by moving from their existing school district to another, they will escape what they are seeing happen to the government schools at the local level.  Not so.  No matter who or where your local government school is, it is a mere microcosm of every other government school in this nation, to a greater or lesser degree.  In final, however, all will be exactly the same.

Some will undoubtedly wonder why there are so many links to government sites and sites that promote systems education.  This is because I have always encouraged parents and citizens to find out for themselves; to request the documents at the local, state and federal level; to read those documents as those documents will tell a far different story than the one parents and citizens are being told at the local, state and federal level.  That this is happening is signified by a growing number of enlightened citizens who are becoming ever-increasingly concerned about....

*       what their children are being taught and the ultimate effect of that teaching;

*       the loss of time spent on and the focus on core knowledge disciplines;

*       the new mission of schools to socialize children, change society, and produce a workforce;

*       the loss of local control;

*       the loss of representative governance; and

*       the effect all of the foresaid will have on our nation.

This website is for those who truly care about children and about this nation.
