Dear Karen,

Your response is most interesting.  Quite obviously, you don't care that the public or government school can come into your home, at any time now, and tell you what you can and cannot do as far as educating your child.  You have effectively ceded your authority over your child in your home to the government by virtue of what you obtain from K12 in return.

That may not bother you.  But I've no doubt it would bother many parents who don't know and who homeschool for the very purpose of getting the government out of the education of their child/ren and their child/ren out from under the control of the government.  One does not need to be dumb to not know the power and control that has been given to the government via K12.  It is one thing to tell people they are part of a public cyberschool.  It is another to tell them what that means.

Systems education MUST include ALL.  K12 is a way to force some of the people now outside that system back into the system.  For those who refuse, the requirement of the CIM will suffice to take care of the problem.

K12 is not an alternative to public education.  Its purpose is to pull people back into the system.  Knowing that, if you choose to continue using it, that is your choice but not one you have the right to inflict on other parents whose purpose in educating their children at home is to get them out of the government education system and out from under government control.

Sincerely,

Lynn M Stuter
