Dear Ms. Stuter,

I hope to answer your letter in great detail by commenting on the article you refer to in your post (below).  I only have time, this evening, to skim it, but it seems to me that it is filled with twisted facts, misrepresentatons of the truth, and outright fallacies.  In your overwhelming and irrational fear that your chosen way of educating your child is being threatened by my choice as to how best educate my child, how many K12 parents did you interview?  You have taken K12 literature, pulled out selected quotes out of context in order to make your points, and made it clear that the only Freedom of Educational Choice belongs to you and those who think like yourself.

Note:  At this point in time, the only article published from learn-usa.com and mentioning K12® was Homeschools, Private Schools and Systems Education which was published on May 22, 2003.  There are no quotes concerning K12® in the article.  As stated by Ms Stefany, it “seems” (subjective, her opinion) to her that “that it is filled with twisted facts, misrepresentatons of the truth, and outright fallacies” but she doesn't state what those are but continues by claiming this author has some sort of “irrational fear”.  To anyone who does research, this sort of pontificating is a sure sign that the author of it cannot justify his/her position.

I look forward to engaging you in this debate and I pray that you will be open to the truth and to sharing my comments with the public as freely as you are choosing to share yours.  It may be a few days before I can get completely through your “article”, but I shall do so and I hope you will not quote me out of context the way you have Dr. Bennett and K12.

Note:  Again, to what is Ms Stefany referring as there are no quotes regarding K12® in the article from learn-usa.com.  Ms Stefany is attempting to set herself up as the purveyor of “truth” yet she still hasn't given any proof that anything that has been said, to this point, about K12 isn't true.  The condescension in this paragraph is hard to miss.

It seems to me that you are reacting to the same type of irrational fears that made homeschooling illegal in my state (Pennsylvania) when I first moved here fifteen years ago.  We are now in the 21st Century and, praise God, we have more educational choices than we did fifteen years ago.  Don't let irrational and paranoid fears prevent you from allowing others the opportunity to enjoy and experience progress or to know the truth.

Note:  Ms Stefany still hasn't come up with any proof that what has been stated by this author is untrue, but now she moves on to make the assumption that the author is “reacting” and suffers from “irrational fears and parnoia”.  This is a tactic, used by trained facilitators, intended to intimidate.  Someone who has never come up against this before usually is intimidated.
