Final Comments

Following the comments of Karen Rice and Gladys Stefany being placed on my website, I heard from both — rather amazing how Gladys Stefany's email address suddenly became accessible again.

The gist of the e-mails from Karen and Gladys was that I didn't have their permission to publish their e-mails on my website; that publishing their e-mails was unethical; that in placing their e-mails on my website, I had subjected them to spam; that my purpose in publishing their e-mails was to make them look foolish.  Furthermore, they threatened that I would be hearing from their attorneys if I didn't remove their e-mails from my website, if Mary Thompson and Leslie did not apologize to them forthwith.

First of all, Karen and Gladys contacted me, not the other way around.  An e-mail is just like a letter ... if there is no copyright on the material, and the correspondence is subject to “fair use” laws, it is at the discretion of the recipient whether to publish the correspondence.

Furthermore, while Karen and Gladys took exception to my publishing their correspondence on my website, they took no exception to their publishing my correspondence on at least two Yahoo Group websites, also accessible to the public, along with some very derogatory remarks, and complete with my e-mail address.  This is clearly a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

When confronted about this, Karen was quick to disassociate herself from her cohort, Gladys, and just as quick to point the finger of blame at Gladys and claim she (Karen) had never circulated my correspondence to her.  Were this true, Gladys would not have had my correspondence to Karen.

The long and short of this situation is that Karen and Gladys expected that I should play by one set of rules while they played by another.  When that didn't happen, they then proceeded to cry foul.  This is also a tactic of the trained facilitator.

Karen requested that I remove her e-mail address from my website as it was exposing her to spam — an accusation Karen would find impossible to prove.  However, I have removed the e-mail addresses of both Karen Rice and Gladys Stefany as a courtesy.

As for making Karen and Gladys look foolish by publishing their correspondence, if Karen and Gladys were made to look foolish, they accomplished that all by themselves.
