Mil Rate Schedule
Repeatedly, district taxpayers have
been told that maintenance and operations levies and bond debt would only
cost district taxpayers a few dollars more. Taxpayers whose property
tax bill is included in their mortgage payment don't usually see an itemization
of what they pay in property taxes. The following schedule shows
assessed valuation in increments of $5,000, starting at $50,000, and mil rates
in increments of $.50, starting at $2.50. If the assessed valuation of a
home is $150,000 and the total of the M & O and Bond mil rates is
$7.00/$1,000, the homeowner will pay $1,050.00 in school taxes alone, excluding
all other taxes including the state schools tax.
